🌼Hello March🌼

February always seems to be over in a blink of an eye. If only January was like that but I’m happy to welcome March and Spring – my favourite season. I don’t know what it is about March but it always gives me light at the end of the tunnel, like summer isn’t too far away and we can finally say goodbye to the cold wet icy weather!

February certainly brought an array of weather. We had some sunny days, we had some real rainy days and we had some serve snowy days and to be honest, snow, I’m not a fan! Usually I hibernate when it snows but this year I wasn’t so lucky. I still had to work and I was without a car for a few days so I even had to walk in the snow and where I live is very hilly so that was fun! I am definitely looking forward to the sunnier weather, just not too hot, which is why I love Spring.

February saw me finish book four in The Four Seasons, completing the series. I’m very happy with the outcome and hopefully you will be too. It was fun to write and it always brings great pleasure when you accomplish something.

The Four Seasons series

I still need to put book four together and send it to my editor and I am still waiting to receive book three back but we’re way ahead of schedule so there’s no rush.

I did however, receive the proof copy of book two and announce a release date, which you can find by clicking here.

🌼Coming April 2nd 2021🌼

I do still need to proof read it and set up pre-order links but all that will be coming soon.

March I will be taking a much needed break. I mean complete radio silence from social media. I’m not afraid to admit that I’ve been side tracked and have forgotten what is important plus for my own peace of mind, I need this. The break could very well take me through to April and even beyond that. I just don’t know. I’m not putting a date on it. I’ll just see how I feel and take each day as it comes.

I will try to continue with writing but I’m not making any promises. A break means just that. A break. A social media break may very well give me the time to write or I might enjoy doing nothing, you never know. My mum is admin of my author page so if there’s anything you need to know, she will post it on there so please continue to check in from time to time.

Despite the break, I will continue to publish The Four Seasons because they are complete and almost ready but as for everything else such as Maxwell Mysteries book 6, a new summer novel or thriller, unfortunately I can’t say for sure if it will happen or not. I may very well get them written and bring them out but at the same time I may not. Again, it just depends.

I hope I’m not disappointing anyone and this really does come with a heavy heart but I need to do what I think is best. I hope you’re all taking care of yourselves and concentrating on what’s important and of course, all my books will remain on Amazon so you can still read or re read any or all of them until your hearts content.

You will hear from me again on April 1st here with a new month blog post and hopefully I will be able to give you an update on the current situation.

Much love Kerry ❤️

💘Hello February💘

How are you all after surviving the longest month ever? Well it wasn’t the start to the new year we had in mind was it? In the UK we went into 2021 in national lockdown and those that were hoping COVID-19 would stay in 2020, it seems it’ll be awhile yet before all this is over unfortunately. Our national lockdown looks like it could be lasting until Easter and it makes me very sad, especially for the children.

I started 2021 with a positive result and all the symptoms to go with it. It took me awhile to recover and a month on and I still have no taste or smell. It’s so frustrating but I know I am lucky. There are people out there who have had it really bad or worse so my heart goes out to them. I wish you all a full and speedy recovery if you have it or had it. Two of my friends are currently fighting it.

So January saw me return to work once I recovered from COVID and I must say I’m glad to be out, even if it’s only part time, a few times a week, a couple of hours a day. That time outside of the house means a lot. It keeps me sane and I enjoy it.

This whole lockdown isn’t good for people’s mental health and well-being. So many people are suffering without you realising. Please check on them and take care of yourself.

January I knuckled down and wrote book 4 in The Four Seasons series. I have made a massive dent and I’m more than halfway through. It isn’t due out until autumn but I wanted to get the series completed so I could move onto other projects. I also ordered the proof copy for book two and book three is with my editor.

I hope you enjoyed book one in The Four Seasons. I had so much fun writing it. It was nice to have a break from the norm and write something different. You can still download book one here ~

What plans do I have for February? Completing book four and sending it to my editor. Announcing book two with a release date and maybe receiving book three back from my editor.

I’m also hoping to hear news on the latest Maxwell Mysteries book because I really want to release it this side of the summer. The hold up has been unfortunate and unavoidable but hopefully we can change that.

Book 6

April is stomping on new ground and she’s way out of her comfort zone but there’s no time to dwell when a local businessman is kidnapped.

She’s on a mission to solve the case and prove her worth but with paper-thin walls and a heard of mini elephants and a horse living next door, a boss tougher then she’s ever met and hotter then she’d like to admit, and that’s without Walker constantly popping by with food and wine. Will she be able to bring the kidnappers to justice or will all the distractions be too much?

Join DI Maxwell in the 6th book of the Maxwell Mysteries as she hunts for kidnappers and tries to get her life back in order.

Release date announcement coming soon!

I wish you all an amazing February and remember if you are struggling, please seek help. It’s nothing to be ashamed of. It’s OK to not be OK but don’t stuffer in silence on your own. We’ve got you!

❄️Hello January❄️

2020 was undoubtedly one of the toughest roughest years of our lives but as we embark on a new year, let’s take the positives with us and leave the negatives behind.

Reflecting back on 2020, let’s see if you can think of ten positives to come out of your 2020 life and even though you might think you may not be able to think of ten, dig deep, you might surprise yourself and if you can’t, that’s fine. Concentrate on the ones you can. Here’s mine ~

  • Visiting Manchester pre lockdown for the first time
  • Getting a new car
  • My eldest son graduating university and starting teachers training
  • Getting another bunny after sadly losing so many
  • Celebrating 18 years married
  • My eldest daughter turning 18
  • Attempting a spa weekend post lockdown
  • Publishing 4 books
  • My eldest daughter receiving 2 conditional university offers
  • And despite the ups and downs of 2020, I know I am blessed to have my family to share it with

I hope you all had a good Christmas. Unfortunately it wasn’t the Christmas we had planned and for a lot of us, we weren’t able to participate in our annual traditions. I for one didn’t get to see any family members or friends like I usually would and I missed the hustle and bustle that is Christmas. It just didn’t feel like Christmas but December wasn’t a complete wash out.

On 1st December I started my count down to Christmas advent calendar where each day you could download one of my books for free for one day only. If you did participate and enjoyed what you read, I would love to hear from you.

December also saw the release of my Christmas book and the first in the series – The Four Seasons ~ A village dusted with snow.

☆Blurb☆

When Maeve losses her job, boyfriend and father in one night, she thinks moving away is the answer. With her father’s inheritance, she purchases a cottage and moves to Dorset but when she arrives in the little village of Litton Cherry, she realises she may have bitten off more than she can chew.

Luke is harbouring his own heartache and moving on is hard especially when he’s surrounded by so many reminders then Maeve turns up. His sister Jo is hoping Maeve could be the distraction he needs but he finds her more of a hindrance.

Meet the residences of Litton Cherry this Christmas with a village dusted with snow and find out whether Maeve is there to stay or a job offer in London is enough to entice her back to the glitzing life of glamorous parties.

2020 was quite a successful year in terms of writing. Whilst lockdown was a hindrance in so many aspects, it did however help with my writing. I managed to write three out of four books in my new series, write and publish my summer novel and publish the last two books in the Cocktails & Tattoos series.

There was however a couple I did not complete. Unfortunately, I did not get to publish book 6 in the Maxwell Mysteries thanks to COVID-19 and the same goes for book 2 in Hattie’s Adventures because my laptop buggered up and I lost everything, which is so frustrating but let 2021 be the year!

📝Writing Goals for 2021📝

  • Release book 6 in Maxwell Mysteries
  • Proofread, edit and publish books 2 and 3 in Four Season series
  • Write and publish a summer thriller
  • Complete and publish book 4 in Four Season series
  • Write and publish book 2 in Hattie’s Adventures
  • Possibly start writing new series

It might sound a little ambitious and it to be honest, it probably is but I already have 3 out of 6 covered. It’s probably the last two I’m dubious about. The last one I had complete but again thanks to my laptop, I lost the whole lot so I’ve got to start from scratch. Wish me luck!

I think that pretty much sums up 2020 and has laid a path for 2021. I wish you all a brighter healthier happier new year and even though it may seem a long way off before normality resumes, it doesn’t mean we can’t look forward and set goals. With time and patience it’s ours for the taking.
